My Child attends ESY (Extended School Year) in the Public School. Can they attend camp?

  • It is possible for your child to attend extended school year and ACKventure but you must enroll and pay for a full time spot in ACKventure for your child. Staff will transition students from ESY into ACKventure each day.

What are my payment options?

  • Pay your balance in full.
  • Payment plans are available with the full balance due by June 1, 2022.
    • Deposit of 1 week of camp plus $50 registration fee due with Registration
    • Please email Katie Manchester at manchesterk@npsk.org to set up a payment plan with weeks of camp requested once initial deposit is received. To inquire about tuition assistance, please contact Susan Richards richardss@npsk.org

What is considered fully registered?

The following must be completed and returned at least two weeks prior to their first day of camp:

  • Completed Hold Harmless & Emergency Contact Forms
  • Completed State/Massachusetts School Health Record or other Signed Healthcare Provider’s Physical/Immunization Record. (These must be signed and dated within the past two years or 18 months to participate in sports camps). List of required immunizations can be found here under immunizations.
  • Payment in Full – including a one-time $50 registration fee per child

What is our refund policy?

  • NCS typically holds to our No Refund Policy. Refunds will not be granted in the case of absences or school/building closures. However, should a class be cancelled by NCS, a refund or credit will be applied per the customer’s preference.  Requests for credits due to unexpected circumstances will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis by NCS staff. If approved, refunds will be subject to a 10% processing fee.

What is the camper-to-staff ratio?

  • Each group has 3-4 counselors with groups ranging from 10-15 campers per group.
  • Our camp licensure requires certain ratios based on ages of campers and staff.

What should my camper bring to camp? What should be left at home?

  • A mask that campers can put on/take off easily (no gaiters please)
  • A hat
  • Refillable water bottle
  • Sneakers
  • A bathing suit and towel
  • Sunscreen*** (spray bottle only)
  • Extra change of clothing
  • Weather appropriate outerwear: sweatshirt, raincoat, etc.
  • Snack (2-3 healthy items packed separate from lunch)
  • Healthy lunch (3-5 items with ice packs)

*** Please remember to apply sunscreen prior to camp even on cloudy/foggy mornings. We will reapply sunscreen as needed.

My child is not quite old enough for sports camps. Do you make exceptions to age groups?

  • Due to staffing ratios we do not make exceptions to the age minimum for our camps.

Will my child need to pass a swim test to participate in the program?

  • Yes. All children in our full day camp will participate in a swim test. Anyone who can not meet the standards will be in a flotation device when at the pool or at the beach. All Jr. ACKventure campers will be in life vests regardless of their ability.

The camp I would like to sign my child up for is already full. Is there a waitlist?

  • Yes, there is a waitlist. Please add your child to the waitlist in the event more space becomes available or if someone drops out. This also informs future summer planning based on need.

If my child is offered a spot off a waitlist, do I have to accept it? Will I be charged even if I do not enroll?

  • We understand that you might be on waitlists for multiple programs. We will enroll your student into the week they have moved off the waitlist but will not charge your card or accept payment until you have confirmed you are still in need of a spot.

If my child can only participate in part of a full week class, will you prorate the registration fee accordingly?

  • Camp enrollment is by the week and is not prorated.

If there is a problem or my child is sick, whom do I contact?

  • Please contact our Camp Director, Shauna Carthy, at carthys@npsk.org or 508-228-7285 x1361.

My child is participating in a morning camp not affiliated with ACKventure. Am I able to sign them up for Extended Day?

  • No. Extended Day is only for ACKventure Sports Camps.

Will Jr. ACKventure be participating in field trips?

  • Yes, Jr. ACKventure will be participating in field trips.

If I need to pick up my child early, can I? If I want to drop off late, can I?

  • It is a possibility, however we do not allow off campus pick up or drop off. Each week you will be provided a schedule notifying you where your child will be and when. If we will be off campus during the time your child needs to be picked up/dropped off, you will need to pick up/drop off your child during a time that their group is on campus. We do not have additional staff to supervise children while their groups are off campus.
