Aquatics Coordinator
This is a full-time, benefit-eligible, year-round position. The Aquatics Coordinator is responsible for the operation of the Nantucket Community Pool including supervision of personnel, program development, and budget and facility management. This position seeks to develop, coordinate, supervise, and maintain the safety of all aquatic facility uses by the members of the Nantucket community.
Part-Time
Lead Gymnastics Instructors
The Lead Gymnastics Instructors will execute lessons and skill development plans while providing input for enhancing workouts. Additionally, the lead instructors will help with gymnastics programming and activity support, such as retrieving supplies and equipment, setting up and breaking down equipment, and directing participants during events. Candidates must be willing to work flexible after-school hours or Saturday mornings.

Extended Day Teaching Assistant
The assistant teacher will actively participate in Extended Day coverage for kindergarten students. This program is offered from the end of the school day through pick-up by the parent/guardian at 5 p.m. The assistant teacher will encourage developmentally appropriate activities for the whole child, including, but not limited to: arts and crafts, outdoor activities, and literacy enrichment.

Learn to Swim Supervisor
This is a part-time, year-round position up to 19 hours per week. The Learn to Swim Supervisor will oversee all aspects of the Nantucket Community Pool youth learn to swim program, including scheduling, communication, and swimmer evaluation. Candidates must be willing to work afternoon and weekend hours.
Head Swim Coach
This is a part-time, year-round position, up to 19 hours per week. The Head Swim Coach is responsible for performing all tasks, duties, and actions associated with leading and managing the daily and seasonal needs of the Nantucket Community School’s swim team. These duties include supervision of coaching personnel and program development.
Spanish Instructor
The Spanish Instructor is responsible for providing Spanish instruction to adult students whose primary language is English. The Spanish Instructor will be responsible for curriculum development, evaluation of students’ progress, and accurate maintenance of all students’ records. Classroom instruction should be interactive and incorporate a variety of teaching techniques, materials, and resources. The classes meet on weekday evenings.
English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Teachers
The ESOL teacher is responsible for providing English instruction to adult students whose primary language is not English. The ESOL teacher will be responsible for curriculum development, evaluation of students’ progress, and accurate maintenance of all students’ records. Classroom instruction should be interactive and incorporate a variety of teaching techniques, materials, and resources. This is a “team teaching” position. The ESOL teacher is expected to work with other instructors to share the responsibilities of preparing lesson plans and implementing instruction.
English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Teacher Assistants
The ESOL Teacher Assistants provides classroom support for ESOL instructors by preparing materials, interacting with students, and supervising projects. Teaching assistants help provide English instruction to adult students whose primary language is not English. The ESOL teacher assistant is expected to work with other instructors to share the responsibilities of preparing lesson plans and implementing instruction for English for Speakers of Other Language classes for adults on all levels. Teaching assistants provide three hours of instruction per week and one hour of weekly preparation time.

Electrical Journeyman Instructor for Nantucket
Adult & Continuing Education School at Upper Cape Cod Tech is partnering with the Nantucket Community School to sponsor an Electrical Code and Theory class on Nantucket for students preparing to sit for the Massachusetts Journeyman License Examination. Part-time evening instructors are needed to teach electrical apprentices the 2023 National Electrical Code Book and approved curriculum. Methods of instruction include in-person lectures, interactive classroom teaching, and practice tests. The curriculum is based on the Mike Holt Enterprises training system.
