The Pool Programming Manager will oversee daily programming at Nantucket Community Pool and work alongside the Aquatics Director to manage daily offerings.
Part-Time
After-School Sports Instructor
The After-School Sports Instructor will execute lessons and skill development plans while providing input for enhancing workouts. This can include but is not limited to, field games, basketball, flag football, etc. Hours are flexible but must include public school “half days” on Wednesday afternoons. This schedule can be provided upon request.

Lead Gymnastics Instructor
The Lead Gymnastics Instructor will execute lessons and skill development plans while providing input for enhancing workouts. Additionally, the lead instructor will help with gymnastics programming and activity support such as retrieving supplies and equipment, setting up and breaking down equipment, and directing participants during events.

Sports and Wellness Assistant
Nantucket Community School is seeking a committed, driven individual to assist our Sports and Wellness Coordinator with the day-to-day operations of the department, including but not limited to CPR, health and safety training, and other duties as needed. The ideal candidate will support the expansion of our health and safety training program.

English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Teacher Assistants
The ESOL Teacher Assistant provides classroom support for ESOL instructors as they guide the class through a lesson by preparing materials, interacting with students, and supervising projects. Helps to provide English instruction to adult students whose primary language is not English.
Driver’s Education Instructor
Nantucket Community School is seeking a Driver’s Education Instructor to provide in-car driving lessons and classroom instruction to teens and adults year-round. Applicants must be 21 or older with a valid Massachusetts driver’s license.

Swim Instructor
Swim instructors are tasked with teaching children elementary swimming skills. Instructors will lead classes with up to four students in 30-minute increments for varying levels and abilities. Instructors will be expected to communicate the Nantucket Community Pool Learn to Swim curriculum with our students and caregivers, as well as provide weekly progress reports. Candidates must be willing to work flexible hours Monday through Friday.
Nantucket Aquatics Assistant Coach
The assistant coach will work alongside the head coach of Nantucket Aquatics to oversee practices and travel swim meets. The ideal candidate will have experience working with both age group and senior-level athletes. Nantucket Aquatics swim season runs September-July with practices after school and on Saturdays (as well as monthly off-island competitions). Candidates must be willing to work afternoon and weekend hours.

Spanish Instructor
The Spanish instructor is responsible for providing Spanish instruction to adult students whose primary language is English. The Spanish instructor will be responsible for curriculum development, evaluation of students’ progress, and accurate maintenance of all students’ records. Classroom instruction should be interactive and incorporate various teaching techniques, materials, and resources. The classes meet on weekday evenings.
Dance Instructor
Dance style and age groups are based on instructor preference. The position will provide each dancer with an environment filled with opportunity, consistency, encouragement, and the direction they need to progress and develop their dance technique.
